Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Pressure Vessel Blaster to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing metal surfaces on industrial pressure vessels using abrasive blasting techniques to meet quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting/hydro blasting) on pressure vessels and fabricated metal components.
- Set up and operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mask and protect surfaces not to be blasted.
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting for cleanliness and proper finish.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in industrial blasting or a similar role.
- Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment, and surface preparation standards.
- Experience working with pressure vessels or large industrial components is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and basic blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a loud, dusty environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (afternoons; 12:30pm-9pm).
- Wage premium for afternoon shift
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
- PPE provided and must be worn at all times in designated areas.
