completion of 3rd and 4th year level university course work necessary for teaching the senior level curricula that are part of this assignment
demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences
experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student
experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices in order to improve learning outcomes for students

Distance Education Focus

experience in online curriculum development and delivery in accordance with the standards for K-12 distributed learning in B.C.
expertise in the use of educational technologies for teaching and learning, especially course management software and both synchronous andasynchronous distance delivery software
able to utilize technology to deliver components of online programs designed for distance delivery via learning management systems (Moodle and Elluminate)
able to cope with ragged entry and exit for students by providing flexible learning opportunities in the online courses delivered
a high degree of technological literacy demonstrating an interest in technology integration
demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (electronically and/or by phone) with parents, students and staff
