Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Residential Site Superintendent to join our team. This is a hands-on position, with approximately 70% of the role dedicated to carpentry and general construction work and 30% focused on site coordination and supervision. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Field Work (70%)
- Perform carpentry and general construction tasks.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with framing, finishing, and other residential construction activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and applicable building codes.
Site Management & Coordination (30%)
- Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate daily site operations.
- Schedule and supervise subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project schedules and help maintain milestones.
- Perform quality control inspections and identify deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, trades, inspectors, and team members.
- Proactively resolve site issues and maintain project momentum.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience.
- Strong carpentry and general construction skills.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of residential building practices and BC Building Code requirements.
- Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
