Position Overview
We are seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our team. This role involves supporting the delivery of occupational therapy services to children with a variety of developmental needs in in-centre and/or in-home settings in Brampton and Mississauga.
The OTA will work closely with Occupational Therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized therapy activities, support children's participation and skill development, and provide consistent support to children and families.

Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy interventions and activities under the direction of an Occupational Therapist
- Support children in developing functional skills related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-care, sensory processing, participation, and daily activities
- Build positive relationships and rapport with children through play-based and engaging activities
- Follow individualized treatment plans and therapy goals established by the Occupational Therapist
- Adapt activities and materials to support the individual needs, interests, and abilities of each child while maintaining the goals of the treatment plan
- Observe and communicate children's responses, progress, challenges, and changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Collect and record data related to treatment goals as directed
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely session documentation
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, ABA therapists, SLPs, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Support consistency and carryover of therapy strategies across settings
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and team members
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive therapeutic environment
- Participate in training, supervision, and professional development as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapist Assistant / Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) or a related recognized program
- Experience working with children is an asset
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, Autism, or other special needs is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, energetic, compassionate, and comfortable engaging children through play
- Ability to follow treatment plans and direction from an Occupational Therapist
- Strong observation, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children
- Comfortable working independently while appropriately seeking guidance when needed
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification is an asset/required [choose based on your policy]
- Access to a vehicle is an asset for in-home sessions

- Flexible scheduling
