Ship design has a final boss: the drawing package.
Blumara is looking for Engineers and Technologists in Halifax to support 3D modelling and production drawing work for complex marine and defence programmes.
This is the bit between “the design makes sense” and “someone can actually build from it”.
We’re looking for people who can help turn engineering inputs into clear, controlled production information. The work is structured, practical, and detail-heavy. You’ll be working within defined systems, standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
If you like clean models, disciplined drawings, and finding the issue before it becomes a meeting, this is probably your sort of problem.
Depending on your background, responsibilities may include:
- 3D CAD modelling
- production drawing support
- drawing package development
- redline and mark-up incorporation
- CAD clean-up and revision control
- mechanical, structural, piping, outfitting, or naval architecture support
- technical documentation and deliverable development
- coordinating with engineers, technologists, designers, and project teams
We’re especially interested in people who have worked in marine, shipbuilding, defence, industrial, production design, or similarly complex technical environments.
This is not “just drafting”.
It is where design intent becomes something useful.
Why Blumara?
Serious work. Close team.
Blumara offers meaningful marine and defence work in a company where people are known, trusted, and able to make a visible contribution.
Practical judgement matters here. So does clear communication, high standards, and giving good people room to grow.
