Overview
The City of Dauphin is seeking a highly organized, professional, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Detachment Services Assistant (DSA).
As the first point of contact for many members of the public, the DSA plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Dauphin RCMP Detachment. This position provides administrative, records management, financial, and front-line customer service support while working in a fast-paced and confidential environment.
The successful candidate will be employed by the City of Dauphin and assigned to work within the Dauphin RCMP Detachment under the operational direction of the Detachment Commander or designate.
Key Responsibilities
The Detachment Services Assistant is responsible for a wide range of administrative and customer service functions, including:
- Providing reception and front-counter services to members of the public;
- Responding to inquiries in person, by telephone, and electronically;
- Processing Criminal Record Checks, Vulnerable Sector Checks, and related services;
- Preparing correspondence, reports, court documentation, and confidential records;
- Maintaining occurrence files and administrative records;
- Entering and retrieving information from RCMP information systems and databases;
- Assisting with financial administration, invoicing, and records reconciliation;
- Supporting court-related administrative processes;
- Compiling statistical information and reports;
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive police and personal information; and
- Providing administrative support to RCMP members and detachment personnel.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent;
- Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration, Legal Administration, Public Administration, or a related field;
- Minimum two years of administrative experience, preferably in a policing, legal, government, or public sector environment;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams;
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when dealing with sensitive information; and
- The ability to obtain and maintain all required RCMP security clearances and reliability screenings.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position working in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement between the City of Dauphin and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 857. The normal work hours for RCMP Detachment Services Assistants are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is a unionized position within CUPE Local 857.
Starting Wage: $31.39 per hour

Conditions of Employment
The successful candidate must:
- Successfully complete all required RCMP security clearances and reliability screenings;
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada; and
