Hunting guide
Riverside Lodge is known throughout the world as a first class professional hunting lodge & outfitter and is known for providing safe excellent service to all their guests. We have a high set of standards for our staff which our customers have come to expect. Riverside Lodge guests are here for an enjoyable fun week of hunting/fishing therefore it is important that all staff have a positive pleasant attitude. A great attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn, is very important.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for, and experience in the role of a Hunting Guide and will have experience guiding hunters professionally and understand the role and requirements to deliver high level performance. Great understanding of customer service skills and a friendly positive attitude is necessary.
Successful applicants;
Must perform all duties in a Safe manner.
Must be personable, provide excellent service to guests, clean spoken.
Important-Must be able to take direction/instruction and be willing to do the job in the manner shown.
Must have a strong "Country Boy" work ethic to get the job done right and go the extra mile.
Must be physically able to carry 50+ lbs, put up tree stands, climb ladders, carry heavy bags of bait, etc. and be willing to do all the work required daily.
Must have - Valid Hunting Guide License, Valid Drivers License, Valid 1st Aid Cert, Valid PAL
Must be able to blood track and retrieve bears.
Must be comfortably able to guide hunting guests Safely in the dark at times.
Must be able to work with others and at times alone.
Safely operate pickup truck while pulling a trailer. Also must be capable of backing up same pickup truck & trailer. Very important to have experience traveling on rural gravel roads.
Able to read and follow a map to various hunting locations.
Experience with Safe operation of chainsaws, ATVs, other outdoor tools/equipment.
Must not be afraid to get dirty at times.
Beneficial to have any of : mechanical repair skills, carpentry skills, other trade skills.
Position could expand into further guiding opportunities for our other hunting trips such as Whitetail deer, waterfowl and both spring and fall bear. Ideally would prefer to hire people who are be able to work each year as extensive training is provided.
Salary dependent on work experience and tools/assets willing to bring and use for work. (contact for details) Room & board can be negotiated in salary.
*Very good guides can earn very good gratuities.
Willing to entertain short term (weekly basis) for those wishing to guide during holiday time away from regular job. Contact for details.
*Under special circumstances may be willing to train inexperienced person to become a professional hunting guide.

Our staff are experienced professionals and can offer some real knowledge but have no patience for people who think they know it all. If you can appreciate Old School knowledge we should all get along.
Prefer applicants 30+ yrs old. Will consider younger applicants with the proper humble attitude and work ethic.
