We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Sales Operations Manager to lead our Client Care department while actively participating in day-to-day sales operations.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of Cobmex's Management Team, the Sales Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of the Client Care department.
The successful candidate will combine strong customer-service leadership with a practical understanding of garment manufacturing, order management, inventory, production coordination, ERP systems, logistics, and distribution.
This is not solely a strategic management position. The Sales Operations Manager will be expected to work hands-on with the Client Care team, customers, orders, ERP system, reporting, and day-to-day operational issues.
As a member of the Management Team, this position plays an active role in supporting company initiatives, improving cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to the organization's long-term growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Client Care team.
- Establish clear departmental goals, priorities, KPIs, and service standards.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, accurate, and customer-focused culture.
- Balance workloads and ensure appropriate coverage during vacations and peak periods.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning as the department grows.
- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity and service quality.
Client Care & Customer Experience
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer concerns and service issues.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and professional communication with customers.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement initiatives to enhance the customer experience.
- Partner with Sales to support customer retention, account growth, and new business opportunities.
- Ensure service commitments consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Order Management
- Oversee the complete customer order lifecycle from purchase order through shipment.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
- Monitor open orders, backorders, shipping priorities, and customer commitments.
- Coordinate with Sales, Product Development, Production, Warehouse, Distribution, Logistics, and Accounting to ensure seamless order execution.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, distributor requirements, and internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate customer and order information within the ERP system.
- Identify and resolve order-related issues before they impact the customer.
Stock Sales & Inventory Management
- Lead the ongoing development and growth of Cobmex's Stock Sales Program.
- Monitor finished-goods inventory and product availability.
- Partner with Sales to identify and maximize stock sales opportunities.
- Analyze inventory movement and recommend replenishment strategies.
- Identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and recommend actions to improve inventory turnover.
- Monitor stock availability against customer demand and sales opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports and recommendations on inventory and Stock Sales Program performance.
ERP, Reporting & Operational Excellence
- Utilize the ERP system as a primary tool for order management, customer information, inventory visibility, reporting, and operational decision-making.
- Ensure ERP information is complete, accurate, and maintained in a timely manner.
- Develop, document, and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to customer service, order accuracy, order fulfillment, inventory, and departmental performance.
- Use Excel and reporting tools to analyze trends and identify operational issues and opportunities.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Lead initiatives that improve productivity, communication, accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
As a member of the Management Team, work closely with the President and leaders across Sales, Product Development, Production, Warehouse, Distribution, Logistics, Accounting, and Finance to:
- Align departmental priorities with company objectives.
- Improve communication and collaboration between departments.
- Resolve operational challenges and customer issues.
- Support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Ensure the successful execution of customer programs and orders.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Establish departmental goals, priorities, and service standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Direct professional experience working within a garment/apparel manufacturing company.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Client Care, Customer Service, Sales Operations, Order Management, Supply Chain, or Operations.
- Previous direct people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, workload allocation, and employee development.
- Hands-on ERP experience, including customer order entry, order management, inventory, production, fulfillment, or related manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of the garment manufacturing order lifecycle, from customer PO through production and shipment.
- Experience coordinating with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, Logistics, and/or Distribution.
- Strong B2B customer-service and relationship-management experience.
- Strong understanding of order management and inventory management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to order and data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the uniform, technical knitwear, workwear, corporate apparel, or related garment manufacturing industry.
- Experience with EDI and retailer/distributor compliance.
- Experience managing stock sales or finished-goods inventory programs.
- Experience with international customers, distributors, and/or supply chains.
- Experience developing SOPs and implementing process improvements.
- Experience developing and reporting departmental KPIs.
- Experience working closely with garment production, product development, sourcing, and supply-chain teams.
Important Requirement:
- Direct garment/apparel manufacturing experience is required for this position.
Experience exclusively in fashion retail, luxury retail, apparel sales, textile/fabric sales, footwear distribution, uniform rental, promotional products, general manufacturing, furniture, packaging, or other non-garment industries does not satisfy this requirement on its own.
