YOUR MISSION
The Art Director is responsible for shaping and leading the visual and artistic vision of projects across multiple formats and platforms. Working closely with Creative Directors, Creation Directors, designers, and external partners, the Art Director translates creative strategy into compelling visual narratives, ensuring a high level of artistic quality, cohesion, and consistency from concept through execution.
Balancing hands-on creative leadership with strategic oversight, the Art Director acts as a key reference for art direction, visual storytelling, and design excellence. With a strong sensitivity to image, narrative, and aesthetic detail, the role ensures that all visual expressions are intentional, authored, and aligned with the creative vision of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Art Direction & Creative Development
Define and lead the overall visual language of projects, ensuring a strong, distinctive, and coherent artistic vision from concept through final execution.
Develop and articulate visual narratives, references, and aesthetic frameworks inspired by circus, opera, theater, cinematic, editorial, and fashion‑driven image‑making.
Establish the look, mood, tone, color palettes, textures, silhouettes, and compositional principles that influence all visual outputs.
Drive creative development through research, visual exploration, and reference building across live entertainment, gaming, film, television, fashion, photography, editorial, pop and contemporary visual culture.
Translate creative concepts into clear art direction frameworks and guidelines that support storytelling, design, motion, environments, styling, and imagery.
Visual Storytelling & Aesthetic Consistency
Ensure visuals feel authored, intentional, and culturally relevant, with strong hierarchy, clarity, and storytelling.
Champion innovation in image‑making, styling, graphic expression, textures, and visual and communication experimentation, while maintaining artistic coherence.
Ensure visual coherence and artistic integrity across all assets, formats, touchpoints, and stages of production.
Oversee and guide the creation of creative decks, visual references, graphic design, motion design, photography, and video assets (when needed).
Apply a strong understanding of framing, rhythm, pacing, contrast, and visual impact.
Review and approve key creative outputs to ensure alignment with the intended artistic direction, narrative intent, and emotional tone.
Creative Collaboration & Influence
Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Creation Directors, designers, and makers to translate creative intent into compelling visuals.
Act as a visual compass and creative authority, providing direction, feedback, and inspiration that elevate artistic quality.
Contribute to creative conversations beyond execution, helping shape concepts, worlds, and visual identities at an early stage.
Team Management & Operational Scope
Support creative alignment primarily through clarity of vision, aesthetic leadership, and strong art direction rather than day‑to‑day people management.
Contribute to project efficiency by establishing decisive creative frameworks that reduce ambiguity and unnecessary iterations.
Identify and develop long-lasting relationships with external creative partners such as production studios, agencies, and freelancers to achieve best‑in‑class visual results.
Profile & Qualifications
Experience
Significant experience as an Art Director or in a senior creative role within live entertainment, theater, film/television, fashion, editorial, or experiential environments.
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual authorship, aesthetic rigor, and narrative sensibility.
Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary creative teams and with high‑level external partners.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional artistic eye and strong personal aesthetic grounded in visual culture.
Advanced ability to translate abstract ideas into clear visual direction.
Strong visual storytelling instincts and editorial judgment.
Excellent communication, presentation, and creative influence skills.
