Job Summary:
Joining the Viking-Cives family you will have pride working within our fast-paced custom fabrication shop. The successful candidate will have passion in applying industrial quality paint on Viking-Cives products and will report to the department Supervisor.
N.B. Applicants must have the right to work in Canada. Viking Cives is not able to offer sponsorship at this time.
(This position is hiring for afternoon shift)
Job Duties & Requirements:
- Mix, agitate, and dispense finishing material.
- Clean, set up, and adjust pumps, agitators, regulators, spray guns, and wiping materials.
- Apply paint material as specified by Customer Requirements.
- Adjust application process, application equipment, and materials being applied to achieve target appearance as specified by, application inspection tools, color targets, production, and verbal instruction.
- Use application process monitoring equipment which includes, but is not limited to, film thickness gauges.
- Review, monitor, and share feedback with the supervisor, production operator and support staff as it relates to the "normal function" of process.
- Set up, clean and/or replace booth filters, part carriers/sawhorses, etc.
- Perform daily "housekeeping duties" which are specified as part of daily production painter activity (sweeping, wiping, discarding waste, etc).
- Ability to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, apply manufacturer recommendations, manufacturing work instructions, and work documentation, policies, and practices, etc.
- Ability and desire to learn finishing technology.
- Ability and willingness to work with paint products.
- Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.
- Willing to adapt to a continually changing environment.
- Committed to team success through reliable attendance.
- Ability to make decisions based on a given set of criteria.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job (lifting, bending, wiping, standing in place) for periods of up to 10 or 12 hours.
- Liquid paint experience preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Quality Assurance Inspection
- Equipment maintenance
Education & Experience:
1-2 years’ liquid painting preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
