About Wilson Plumbing Service Inc.
Wilson Plumbing Service Inc. is a mechanical contractor with decades of experience on mid- and high-rise residential construction in Southwestern Ontario. We are integrating 3D reality capture, BIM coordination, and off-site prefabrication into a single connected workflow - moving mechanical construction from a field-driven process into a controlled, model-driven system.
We have invested in the tools. We have the field experience and the trade knowledge. We are now building the technical team to operate and advance this system on active projects, starting with a high-rise residential development in Kitchener.
The role
This position owns the technical pipeline from site scanning through to fabrication-ready output. You will operate our Trimble X9 3D scanner in the field, process and register point cloud data in the office, develop and coordinate mechanical models in Revit and AutoCAD, and produce the spool drawings and cut lists that our fabrication shop works from.
This is a hands-on, production-oriented role. The right candidate is someone who is precise, organized, and comfortable moving between field conditions and technical software. You will be working directly with project managers and field supervisors, so the ability to communicate clearly and work within a construction environment is essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Trimble X9 3D scanner on active construction sites — establishing control networks, capturing floor-by-floor point clouds, and managing scan data by zone and level
- Register, clean, and process scan data in Trimble Software, extracting verified slab elevations and floor-to-floor dimensions by suite
- Link point clouds into Revit MEP and develop mechanical system models (drainage and hydronic) at fabrication level of detail against confirmed site conditions
- Identify and document discrepancies between structural drawings and scanned as-built conditions
- Produce spool drawings, pipe cut lists, and fitting schedules in AutoCAD from coordinated Revit models
- Organize and label fabrication packages by floor and suite for shop production and site delivery
- Maintain organized file structures, naming conventions, and version control across all project data
- Document workflows and contribute to process development as the system is refined across projects
Qualifications
We are looking for a technically strong candidate with practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Diploma or degree in geomatics, survey engineering technology, architectural technology, civil engineering technology, or building information modelling
- Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, total stations, or survey-grade measurement equipment - Trimble platform experience is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD - ability to draft, modify, and coordinate mechanical drawings to a fabrication standard
- Experience with point cloud processing software such as Trimble Business Center, Autodesk ReCap, or similar
- Comfort working on active construction sites - must be able to work safely at height and in unfinished building conditions
- Strong attention to detail and spatial reasoning - the ability to translate field conditions into precise technical drawings
- Organized and self-directed - able to manage scan data, drawing files, and fabrication packages across multiple floors and suites simultaneously
What we offer
- A technically challenging role with direct impact on how projects are planned and built
- Hands-on experience with industry-leading reality capture technology on active high-rise construction
- A collaborative environment with experienced field teams who bring decades of practical construction knowledge
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Opportunity to grow with the system - as this workflow scales across more projects, so does the role
How to apply
Please submit a resume and a brief description of your relevant experience, including any scanning, modelling, or construction projects you have been involved in. Applications are reviewed personally and qualified candidates will be contacted directly.
