Job Overview
Capital Security is seeking a professional, dependable, and highly alert Protective Services Security Guard to join our team. This role is designed for security professionals who can provide a strong, commanding, and reassuring protective presence for clients in environments where deterrence, awareness, and professionalism matter.
The ideal candidate carries themselves with confidence, remains calm under pressure, communicates clearly, and understands how to project a visible security presence that helps discourage unwanted behaviour while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Provide protective security services for clients, designated persons, and assigned environments
- Maintain a high-visibility, professional presence that supports deterrence and client safety
- Escort clients safely to and from vehicles, venues, residences, events, or designated locations
- Monitor surroundings for suspicious behaviour, safety concerns, and developing risks
- Intervene early through observation, presence, verbal de-escalation, and sound judgment
- Conduct access control, perimeter checks, and patrols as required by the assignment
- Respond to disturbances, unauthorized persons, and security concerns in a calm and professional manner
- Complete clear and accurate incident reports, occurrence reports, and shift activity logs
- Coordinate with site contacts, event staff, management, and emergency responders when necessary
- Uphold all client-specific post orders, confidentiality expectations, and company standards
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
- Excellent situational awareness and strong observational skills
- Professional appearance, posture, and communication skills suitable for protective assignments
- Ability to project confidence, composure, and authority in client-facing environments
- Strong de-escalation skills and sound decision-making under pressure
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and remain alert throughout the shift
- Reliable transportation is an asset
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to pass a background screening and provide references upon request
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Protective services or executive protection
- High-profile client-facing security
- Concierge security or residential security
- Mobile patrol or rapid response security
- Bar, nightlife, or event security in environments requiring confident crowd control and deterrence
Compensation
This position starts at $20.00/hour. Guards who demonstrate strong performance, professionalism, reliability, assignment suitability, and positive client feedback may be eligible for a wage increase up to $25.00/hour following an initial 2–3 week evaluation period.
