Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASME standards and materials, ensuring compliance and quality in the design and manufacturing of boiler and pressure vessels. This role involves collaboration across departments to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Standards Compliance:
Ensure that all products comply with ASME Section VIII-1, ASME Section IX, ASME Section II, and ASME Section IV standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any changes or revisions to these standards.
Material Knowledge:
Demonstrate expertise in materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel. Assess and approve material specifications for suitability in pressure vessel applications.
Welding Processes:
Familiarity with various welding processes, including Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Evaluate the appropriateness of welding methods for specific projects.
Welding Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of welded joints, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards. Analyze weld size, identify defects, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assessments. Generate reports for management teams to communicate findings and improvements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, production, and safety teams to address quality issues, share best practices, and enhance overall product quality.
Training and Development:
Provide training and guidance to staff on quality control processes and ASME standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience in quality engineering, specifically within the boiler and pressure vessel industry.
In-depth knowledge of ASME standards, particularly Section VIII-1, IX, II, and IV.
Proficient in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW) and inspection techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve quality-related issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWB Welding Inspector) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
