Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has occupied and governed the territory since beyond recorded history. The Squamish Nation's culture is rich and resilient. We continue to practice our customs and traditions, which are strongly interconnected with our traditional territory. As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 14 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.
Working as an integral part of the Public Safety Department, this position reports directly to the Project Team Lead, Emergency Planning and Response. This position is twofold. 1). Manages the administrative flow and clerical tasks required by the Emergency Planning and Response division. This position provides a wide range of leadership, clerical, and administrative support including maintenance and tracking of filing systems, scheduling, and coordinating of meeting rooms and tracking of detailed data in excel format. 2) Responsible for assisting the EPR Project Team Lead and supporting various projects such as EPR communications development, Voyent Alert procedures, and grant implementation. This position provides research regarding programs and services as well as undertakes special assignments and initiatives. The position is accountable for maintaining a bring-forward system for contracts and agreements. The incumbent is responsible for a broad range of administrative tasks that usually require senior approval but may require independent judgment in some situations. Knowledge of federal and provincial emergency support services policies, practices and protocols, including knowledge of emergency management and climate readiness protocols is favorable. The incumbent is required to have a good understanding of the professional staff’s requirements, and community resources.

Combination of education and experience.

Experience delivering customer service in one of the following areas of Nation Services is preferred: Health, Community Planning and Operations, Social Services, Education, Employment Services, etc.

Salary: $ 67,365 - $ 75,358 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
