The joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and Aecon (operating as CanAtom) has been awarded multiple contracts with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out the Darlington Refurbishment scopes of work. The projects involve refurbishment of all four reactors at the Darlington Generating Station, turbine generator refurbishment, and other infrastructure improvement projects throughout the site. The contracts also include a long-term master service agreement for miscellaneous capital and maintenance projects at Darlington and Pickering Generating Stations.

Position Overview:
This is a new position and will provide the student with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of the Comprehensive Work Package used to manage work on a nuclear site. The job involves interaction with Quality personnel from Close Out; Inspection; Materials; NCR’s; etc. From time-to-time there will be interaction with all disciplines of Construction; Project Management; and occasionally Senior Management.

This position would appeal to someone who is interested in understanding Nuclear Projects from an overall standpoint. You will be exposed to all aspects of the business process

Assist QS/QC Close-Out staff with:
Review alignment of signature dates between Inspection and Test Plan; Work Instruction; and Reports
Identify discrepancies between ITP Requirements and Actual Reports
Review signatures in CWP binders relative to Signature Logs
Scanning of History Dockets and History files for submission to Customer
Facilitate Access to Aecon Systems for SNC Employees
Draft CWP Index revisions
Set up Binders for the conversion of CWP to HDOC format
Secure missing signatures from various project disciplines, as required
Maintain Project Files (Records held but, not required for an HDOC)
Maintain HDOC Binder Cabinets, as required
Maintain Key Process Indicators (KPI’s), as required

Required Knowledge & Skills:
Currently enrolled in an Engineering Degree Program (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural) 2nd /3rd year student
Advanced user of MS Office along with strong coordination and people skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated
Thrive on a fast paced-environment
