In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism) and the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada.
In 2022, PEI further strengthened a partnership with Vision Group Canada (VGC) and is working to expand its footprint nationally. VGC operates over 50 clinics and 70 surgical facilities performing over 100,000 procedures annually.

Tasks:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance with company policies, and proper merchandising.
- Manage and delegate tasks across Oakville and Brampton locations, ensuring efficient team performance.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate restocking of frames, lenses, and optical products.
- Manage expenses, budgets, and financial targets to ensure profitability.
- Drive sales growth through effective strategies, analyzing sales metrics, and adjusting as needed.
- Train, develop, and evaluate staff in sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service best practices.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and resolve complaints professionally.
- Build customer relationships to encourage loyalty and develop marketing strategies to attract new business.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with adequate staffing coverage.
- Assist and educate patients in selecting eyewear and explain lens options.
- Measure for proper fitting, perform adjustments/repairs, and process orders, payments, and insurance claims.
- Manage referrals and bookings for specialty contact lenses, ensuring proper fitting and care instructions. Assist with diagnostic testing and follow up with patients for comfort and fit.
- Manage the online store (OTTO) with timely order shipments.
- Approve team payroll, track employee hours, handle billing, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports on sales, performance, and operational needs.
- Perform other related duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
What You Bring:
- Associate's degree or certification in medical office administration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical administrative support or technician role, preferably in ophthalmology.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical office software, and optical retail management systems.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, time management, and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in managing tasks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of optical products, eyewear trends, and vision care services.
- Proven ability to drive sales, manage budgets, and resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer concerns effectively.
