About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and collaborative professional to join our team. This position will lead national initiatives designed to strengthen the settlement sector's capacity to effectively respond to gender-based violence (GBV) experienced by newcomers and support the ongoing work of the National GBV Strategy for Agencies Serving Immigrants.
Working closely with settlement organizations, anti-violence partners, and sector stakeholders across Canada, this position will support the expansion of a national GBV Champion Network, facilitate sector-wide learning opportunities including our Champion Network, Webinars and oversee the delivery and sustainability of the Bridges to Safety: Building the Capacity of the Settlement Sector to Respond to Gender-Based Violence online training program. Outside of supporting current activities will also be leading updates around the current model and course and finding more sustainable avenues for this work to continue its impact.
The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening coordinated, effective, and equitable settlement supports for newcomers, including equity-deserving groups and Francophone minority communities.
In this role, you will:
- Lead communication with partners, consultants, participants and stakeholders.
- Develop and share practical tools, resources, communications materials, and learning supports with network members.
- Design all presentation materials involved for the project including resources, slide decks for virtual and in person presentations, and professional communications.
- Lead and expand the National GBV Staff Champion Network including designing, outreaching and co-facilitating regular virtual meetings.
- Implement a train-the-trainer model that enables GBV Champions to independently deliver education and awareness activities within their organizations and communities.
- Facilitate and design peer-led knowledge exchange opportunities that promote collaboration and the sharing of best practices across the sector through virtual webinars and training sessions.
- Build and strengthen relationships with anti-violence organizations, settlement agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Support the outreach, delivery and ongoing maintenance of the nationally accessible Bridges to Safety online training program in both French and English.
- Lead the sustainability of the Bridges to Safety Course with updates, editing and transitions to a fully self-directed and self-paced learning platform, including registration and course completion processes.
- Maintain detailed records, databases, evaluations, and project documentations and resources for reporting purposes.

Education and Skills Qualifications:
- Bilingualism written and verbal (English and French) is considered a strong asset as this is a bilingual project.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gender-based violence, trauma- and violence-informed approaches, and survivor-centered practices.
- Experience working in the settlement sector and/or the gender-based violence sector is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of newcomer settlement and integration services in Canada.
- Experience developing and facilitating virtual training, workshops, or educational programming.

Experience with public relations, communication and project profiling, and knowledge mobilization.

Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders and partners.
- Knowledge of equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-oppressive practice, and intersectionality.
- Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across sectors and geographic regions.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to develop resource materials, guides, training tools, and knowledge-sharing content.
- Intermediate skills to advanced Microsoft Office skills in Canva, Microsoft Office and Zoom. (Wix is a strong asset)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
- Post-secondary education in social work, adult education, gender studies, community development, sociology, public administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
