What you can expect in a typical day:
As the Irving Oil Videographer Photographer, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build our brand by creating consistent visual images that will tell our story on multiple medias. The role requires a keen eye for delivering consistent, high quality video and still photography. You'll use your experience as a director on commercial shoots and know how to perform interviews that appeal to various audiences. You'll leverage your experience working on content for large social media audiences to produce video and photography as well as help steer and guide content focused on the overall brand experience.

What you’ll need to succeed:
Experience as a director on commercial shoots.
Experience with managing projects and working on content for large Facebook and YouTube audiences.
Excellent presentation skills and experience with storyboarding.

Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with multiple teams.
Ability to multi-task effectively and work towards deadlines.
Positive and energetic working style; able to adjust quickly as the specifics of a shoot evolve or change.
Ability to handle objections and adversity.
Attend client meetings, take requirements for creative briefs, make recommendations, and execute.
Assist with timelines and scheduling of video and photo projects.
Attend location scouts and make recommendations on equipment needs and set up times.
Work as part of a team on storyboards and scripts; able to take constructive criticism.
Process and edit footage and photography.
Manage and organize source files and assets by uploading and maintaining image files in the appropriate format; this includes established naming conventions, file structure, and metadata.

Ability to travel and work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
Education and experience

Post-secondary education in cinematography and film / video production, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of direct experience as a videographer / photographer.
High level of competence with Adobe Premier, After Effects, and Photoshop.
A portfolio of work showcasing commercials for television, social media (multiple platforms), as well as photography used in print and online marketing; please include a link to your online portfolio with your application.
Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
