Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part-Time Coffee Shop Helper to support the operations at Georgetown Hospital. This role involves assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring excellent customer experiences. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and light snacks in accordance with hospital standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Assist customers with their orders, providing friendly and professional customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and dining spaces in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including basic math for transactions and change calculation
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Follow all food safety protocols and health guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors
Skills
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is preferred
- Previous barista or food service experience is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction processing
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
