Sedtke Contracting Ltd. is seeking a Motivated and dependable labourer to join our team. This position involves working on a variety of residential and light commercial construction projects, including decks, fences, garages, framing, painting, renovations, and general carpentry work. The successful candidate will often work independently on job sites and must be capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Responsibilities
- Build and repair decks, fences, garages, sheds and other structures.
- Perform framing, measuring, cutting, assembly, and installation of materials.
- Complete painting, staining, finishing, and touch-up work.
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Operate hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
- Follow project plans, instructions and company procedures.
- Communicate progress, concerns, and material requirements to management.
- Work independently while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations
- Perform other construction and general labour duties as assigned
Requirements
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Proper PPE(personal protective equipment) including steel-toed boots and appropriate work attire
- Ability to work 40-80 hours per week as required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (23 Kg) or more regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Training & Certification
Previous construction experience is an asset but not mandatory
The Following Training Certifications are considered essential but we will train
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System)
- First Aid/CPR
- Fall Protection
- Aerial work platform or lift training (asset)
- Telehandler/Forklift Certification (asset)
Candidates who do not currently possess all required certification may still be considered. Sedtke Contracting Ltd. is willing to provide training and certification opportunities to the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, a strong work ethic, and willingness to learn

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

- Construction: 1 year (preferred)
