Metric Acoustic Services Inc. (MAS) is a Canadian consulting firm specializing in noise and vibration monitoring, environmental compliance, and active noise suppression solutions for mining, construction, and industrial clients.

The Opportunity
Ideally, we are seeking an individual with experience in both acoustics and geotechnical engineering, although we recognize that combination is uncommon.

If required, we are open to hiring two complementary specialists who will work together.
What You'll Do
This position combines engineering analysis, regulatory compliance, field verification, and technical reporting.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review continuous noise and vibration monitoring data
- Analyze trends and identify potential compliance concerns
- Validate monitoring system performance and sensor integrity
- Interpret environmental monitoring results
- Prepare technical reports for clients and regulators
- Review baseline studies and ongoing monitoring programs
- Provide engineering interpretation of environmental data
- Sign and seal engineering reports where required
- Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
- Review blast vibration and ground vibration monitoring results
- Evaluate construction and mining impacts on surrounding communities
- Assist with implementation of active noise suppression systems
- Recommend engineering controls to reduce environmental impacts
- Conduct occasional site inspections throughout British Columbia
- Support installation verification and commissioning of monitoring equipment
- Participate in client meetings and technical presentations
- Develop monitoring methodologies and quality assurance procedures
- Assist in expanding MAS technical service offerings
QualificationsRequired
- Engineering degree in one of the following:
- Acoustic Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geological Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (Acoustics)
- Eligible for registration or currently registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- Professional designation (P.Eng.) or ability to obtain registration within a reasonable timeframe
- Ability to review and sign engineering documents (or working toward that responsibility)
- Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally throughout British Columbia

Pay: $50.00-$80.00 per hour
