Electrical Estimator
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. We are seeking someone who understands electrical construction, can accurately interpret drawings and specifications, and can prepare competitive estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator, electrician, or electrical project professional looking to take on a key role in pricing and securing upcoming work.
Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, tender packages, and addenda
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects
- Complete accurate material and labour takeoffs
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare RFQs and follow up with suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential cost-saving opportunities
- Review tender requirements to ensure complete and compliant submissions
- Assist with bid submissions, closing tenders, and proposal preparation
- Maintain estimating files, pricing information, and historical job costs
- Work with project managers and field staff to ensure estimates reflect actual construction requirements
- Assist with change order pricing and project costing as required
Qualifications
- Experience in electrical estimating, electrical construction, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of labour, materials, equipment, and installation requirements
- Comfortable obtaining pricing and dealing with suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong computer skills; experience with estimating software is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines
- Electrical trade experience or Red Seal certification is considered a strong asset
- Valid drivers license (company vehicle provided)
