About the Position
A new role for the company, this position offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to manage all incoming and outgoing shipments and materials from MacGregors’ manufacturing and distribution facilities. You will oversee a small team to execute all requirements as it relates to documenting, inspecting, and processing shipments from start to finish. This role is considered critical to quality and is a pivotal part of helping us achieve our goals as they relate to on-time delivery, quality assurance and document control.
Priority Objectives
1. Responsible to package, label, and log shipments outgoing for different divisions.
2. Coordinate the shipping and receiving activities with the material handling personnel and the production leads
3. Manage the resource requirements for the smooth operation of the shipping and receiving process.
4. Provide direction and guidance to material handling personnel and all those involved in the shipping and receiving process.
5. Ensure the preservation and quality of all products inbound and outbound to MacGregors facilities.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparing bills of lading and checking items to be shipped against work orders to ensure that quantities, destination and routing are correct.
- Assisting QC in GD&T and conventional dimension verification process as necessary to ensure Quality Standards are met
- Work with QC team to identify and document non-conformances and work with suppliers to resolve situation.
- Work with purchasing staff to reconcile goods received in a timely fashion.
- Be primary contact for transportation and courier companies. Organizing procurement of transportation services, managing quality standards with vendors, and selecting best-fit vendor for the application at hand.
- Maintain department databases, prepare routine reports and shipping/receiving records.
- Assisting Project Managers and Production personnel with the coordination of shipping/receiving activities by providing accurate documentation of shipped or received product, organizing resources, and operating equipment as needed to complete tasks on time and efficiently.
- May be called upon, with short notice, to operate a company vehicle to deliver shipments.
- Lead the staging and organization of products and equipment for internal and offsite projects completed by the production units.
- Ensure safe works practices are in place on all projects and continuously look for methods to improve MacGregors safety culture.
Expectations:
- Maintain a valid drivers license
- Order and maintain all supplies required for daily shipping and receiving.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- The ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Knowledge of commercial shipping methods and procedures and keeping a personal database or file of this information for easy access and regular use.
- Able to work 40+ hours per week. This will include some Saturday shifts from 8am to 12noon.
- Be willing to learn and become competent at operating forklifts, telehandler, overhead crane, and other material handling equipment.
Key Skills, Capabilities and Experience
- Must be self motivated and a self starter
- Solid background/Strong understanding of:
- Planning and leadership of small crews
- Material handling and the safe use of material handling equipment
- Documentation and reporting
- Product preservation
- Competent in the use of measuring and inspection equipment such as measuring tapes and calipers
- Competent with interacting with many people in a fast-paced environment
- Competent with Microsoft Office 365 programs
- Ability to organize and assess resource capacity.
- At least 5 years of experience in all the above skills.

Compensation:
- $24.00-26.00 hourly depending on skillset
