Summary

The Auditor, Global HSE is responsible for planning, executing, and closing out audits of the HSE Management System, ensuring that our operations are acting in compliance with established company policies and procedures and applicable industry standards. Provides the appropriate personnel with information in support of decision making and assists members of the organization in effectively executing their responsibilities with respect to the HSE MS; Provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations, coaching, and information concerning the activities reviewed and the adequacy and the effectiveness of the organization’s HSE MS

Responsibilities

Maintain responsibility for all aspects of the HSE MS auditing process: including performing audits, auditor development, scheduling of audit teams, and audit follow-up
Provide effective coaching and mentoring to operations personnel and demonstrates a disciplined approach to the Company’s policies, processes, and procedures; drives the implementation of the MS and measure compliance throughout the organization
Review and updates audit protocols designed to evaluate compliance with documented policies and procedures
Communicate HSE information and gathers data that can demonstrate improvement of HSE performance at the rig/facility level through usage and compliance with the HSE MS
Provide coaching for rig/facility management regarding the implementation and effective management of the HSE MS
Plan, execute and monitor activities to achieve audit plan
Evaluate significance of nonconformities
Compile and maintain records associated with management system audits
Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable regulations and other internal/external requirements
Follow up the corrective actions that result from audit findings, incidents including near misses and ensures that all items are closed and followed up for effectiveness
Perform trend analysis and monitors performance metrics for the implementation and effectiveness of HSE MS Processes and Tools
Prepare and reports quarterly audit results summaries; develops HSE MS Annual Review Report
Maintain knowledge of trends in industry and changes to applicable code standards
Assist in developing goals, policies and procedures, risk-based audit plan
Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures through activities such as performing quality review of audit work papers
Demonstrate quality and consistency of execution of the HSE MS by establishing Standards, Procedures and Tools
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, including industry benchmarking
Ensure principles of risk management are understood and implemented in the organization
Work with management to develop an understanding and proper use of adequate risk assessment, root cause analysis, nonconformance and corrective action
Identify competency gaps and assists with coaching and development plans
Assist in the management of HSE MS Document Control

Knowledge & Skills

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – advanced levels

Knowledge of audit procedures and requirements

Strong SAP knowledge with access to sensitive information as needed for analytics and reporting requirements

Strong communication skills and an ability to work at all levels, both verbally and written

Motivation to develop skills associated to strong administrative support

Ability to handle multiple tasks on daily basis

Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines; Ability to perform under stressful conditions

Ability to maintain accurate and detailed information (through written skills and data entry)

Ability to identify and implement improvements

Knowledge of Industry and Field practices and operations

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Health Safety and Environment or equivalent qualification, preferred

Required HSE and/or Audit industry recognized/applicable Certification

Experience

5+ years of experience as an HSE Auditor with applicable auditor training; prior experience managing audits

Experience in Upstream Oil and Gas

Experience in ISO and OHSAS

Proficient in Canada and USA regulatory, standards, and industry best practices
