Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a high-speed food manufacturing and packaging facility.
This is a senior-level maintenance position for a licensed trades professional with extensive experience maintaining and troubleshooting Tetra Pak equipment, aseptic food processing systems, and high-speed packaging equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, changeovers, equipment improvements, and supporting junior and apprentice technicians.
Shift : Continental Day & Night, (7am to 7pm & 7pm to 7:30am)
Rate of Pay: $48.98/hr
What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns.
- Perform all work in accordance with health and safety standards, rules, regulations and practices of the facility·
- Work with Equipment Operators, QC Technicians and Production Supervisors to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and mentor both Junior and Apprentice Technicians
- Participate in maintenance improvement projects as required
- Repair and perform modifications and/or maintenance on high speed packaging equipment, dismantling and assembling mechanical and electrical equipment, repair and replacement of defective parts as required
- Maintain, repair and reassemble production equipment: including but not limited to pumps, pasteurizers, valves, pipes, etc.
- Understand and perform maintenance activities on all support equipment: boiler, air-compressors, condensers, vacuum pumps, water meters, etc.
- Communicate with various parties on the work performed during shift changeovers
- Perform preventative maintenance following standards and schedules as outlined in the PM program. This includes lubrication, adjustment, modifications of equipment, cleaning, etc.
- Follow work instructions and provide recommendations on equipment development and improve related processes
- Ensure proper lockout/Tagout procedures are followed at all times
- Control downtime by managing and performing routine preventive maintenance and operation techniques
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with Tetra Pak equipment is required.
- Completion of Mechanical or Electrical Technology Degree/Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Licensed and experience in one or both of the following trades: Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Millwright or similar required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Tetra Pak equipment.
- Experience with low-acid aseptic food processing.
- Experience with high speed flexible packaging equipment.
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and decision making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working in a diverse and multicultural atmosphere.
- Ability to effectively communicate (both written & verbal).
- Ability to work in a multi-skilled, rotating shift environment.
- Demonstrate high regard for personnel and product safety.
