NOW HIRING AQUACULTURE SUPPORT WORKER
Future Nets is a net mending and manufacturing company, dedicated to delivering high-quality, custom-built nets, since 1989. Future Nets is located 48 Armstrong Loop Road, Pennfield, NB, E5H 1W7,and is hiring for full- time, Aquaculture Support Worker.
Position Summary:
Aquaculture Support Worker are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and mending aquaculture nets.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Work with fouled nets:
- Receiving all nets to the Future Nets’ property.
- Assisting all truck drivers and boom truck operators to off load fouled nets.
- Separating untreated covers and lids from treated submerged nets.
- Unfolding and unrolling of fouled nets to find the net identification tag(s).
- Measuring the net when a net identification tag is not found or when requested.
- Apply Future Nets’ net service identification numbered tags to each net.
- Recording and reporting the net identification data on appropriate forms.
- Keep the fouled net storage pad drains unobstructed and running free and open.
- Washing down and disinfecting net delivery vehicles from outside customers.
- Wash aquaculture fish nets with high pressure water (upwards of 3000 psig).
Work with washed / clean nets:
- Haul nets over the wash wall staying on the clean side.
- Confirm and record the net identification and Future Nets’ tag data on clean fleet sheet.
- Measure the nets when and as required to confirm the net identification on clean fleet sheet.
- Note and record all net damage on the net tag.
- Fleet (fold and roll) the washed nets as instructed.
- Pile the nets in a designated “clean” area.
- Disinfect all materials handling vehicles before entering the “clean” washed net area.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Physically capable, comfortable working outside in all weather, and able to lift heavy objects of 50lbs.
- Previous laborer experience considered an asset.
- Highly motivated and team oriented.
- Works in a safe and responsible manner.
- Basic understanding of the English language.
Pay, Benefits, & Hours:
- $22.00-25.00 per hour.
- Benefits available after completion of probationary period.
- 45-50 hours per week.
