Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management.
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff to build a high-performing team aligned with company standards.
- Monitor store performance through retail math analysis, budgeting, and sales management metrics; implement action plans for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster a welcoming shopping environment.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the retail industry, including supervising teams and managing store operations.
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated expertise in POS systems, purchasing processes, cash handling, merchandising, and retail math.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Experience with retail sales management tools such as sales tracking software and marketing initiatives.
- Ability to lead shift management activities while maintaining organizational efficiency through time management and operational oversight.
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments preferred.
