The Media Services Specialist will have the opportunity to use a wide range of software and hardware tools to provide ingest, video encoding/transcoding, live web streaming, and web video publishing. The successful candidate will be able to tackle a variety of responsibilities, while working collaboratively with the Digital Media Services team and other internal stakeholders. You will leverage your strong communication and interpersonal skills and your ability to self-manage multiple priorities, take ownership, and multi-task.
Work with the Media Platform Specialist to design, test and implement new technical workflows to deliver content to multiple platforms
Write and maintain detailed operational procedures and code repository
Develop internal web applications that streamline business processes in collaboration with the Media Platform Specialist
Interact with third party APIs and create small web applications
Become a subject matter expert for AODA/WCAG 2.1
Perform accessibility audits including automated and manual checks, providing training to different departments and working with Product Managers to prioritize and tackle accessibility issues
Become a super user and administrator for the accessibility monitoring platform, Level Access AMP
Consult with internal and external stakeholders, analyze problems, develop solutions and recommend methods to streamline business processes
Work with deadlines, which on rare occasions may require working some shifts, weekends, holidays and/or overtime
2 year Multi Media Design and Development program, New Media program or equivalent
Working experience in an Agile environment including composing user stories and exposure to tracking software such as target process, Trello or similar tools
Understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1)
Knowledge of assistive technology including screen readers
Knowledge of automated and manual accessibility testing using accessibility management platforms such as Level Access AMP or Siteimprove
Experience with video encoding, non-linear video editing, on-line video streaming, VOD publishing, and Closed Captioning creation software is an asset
