Force Inspection Services is a leading oilfield asset and tubular management and services company to the upstream oil and gas industry. Its core business revolves around drill pipe, drill tools, sucker rods, casing and production tubing, coating services, and tubular products for production and completion. Force’s services include in-plant and mobile inspection, repair, machining, and manufacturing.
Reporting to the Inspection Operations Manager, the Labourer will support the direct initiatives of the Operators in ensuring all material is properly inspected, repaired, faults are detected and materials are rectified and marked. This role will require the knowledge of using tools and will also be responsible to clean and repair equipment as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists Inspectors/Operators with all physical inspections, process and defect detection.
- Knowledge and ability to use various hand tools and power tools.
- Cleans or repairs equipment.
- General housekeeping to ensure safe and clean work area.
- Supports the Shipper/Receiver with coordination during job progress.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with Force Inspection’s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School diploma, G.E.D (an asset).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (an asset).
- 6 months experience in a construction environment an asset.
- Training in inspection procedure an asset.
- H2S ticket, First Aid Training and WHIMS 2015 are assets.
- Strong English reading and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong detail orientation; values accuracy and has high standards around quality of work.
- Process thinker, with high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a timely and effective fashion.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Able to work overtime and various shifts.
Special Conditions
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 35 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to meet pre-employment testing requirements (i.e., drug and alcohol, physical fitness, audiogram and vision testing).
- Ability to work in outdoor Canadian temperatures (-25 degrees to +30 degrees).
- May be required to work in hazardous environments requiring PPE.
- May be exposed to dust and high noise levels.
This position will be Monday – Friday with occasional overtime or weekends depending on site location needs. The successful candidate will be working with our team at Baker Hughes.
