Whether it’s unpacking farm-fresh deliveries, helping a customer discover a new seasonal favorite, or trimming, stocking, and rotating with precision—you’ll turn everyday fruits and vegetables into an unforgettable shopping experience. This is the perfect role for someone who’s passionate about food, customer service, and creating a produce department that truly stands out.
The typical hiring range for this position is $18 to $18.50. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skill set, internal equity, and organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Engagement

Create a warm, welcoming environment by greeting and assisting customers with produce inquiries

Offer product recommendations based on seasonality, taste, preparation, and wellness goals
-
Share knowledge on storage techniques, ripeness, and freshness to reduce waste and improve quality

Promote new and featured products through demos, signage, and conversation

Mentor team members by sharing insights and leading by example
Product Handling & Quality Assurance

Receive and verify produce shipments, reporting any shortages or quality issues
-
Trim, wrap, and merchandise produce to company freshness and food safety standards
-
Rotate and replenish stock consistently to prevent spoilage and reduce shrink
-
Maintain accurate inventory levels and participate in stock counts and ordering feedback
Visual Merchandising & Display Excellence

Build compelling and organized displays that reflect seasonality and support sales goals
-
Ensure signage, labels, and pricing are current and visually clear
-
Contribute creative merchandising ideas to highlight key products and local partnerships

Support storewide campaigns and themes with fresh, on-brand displays
Operations & Sustainability
-
Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, knives, and scales safely and effectively
-
Keep produce coolers, prep areas, and displays clean, organized, and well-stocked
-
Follow all SOPs for receiving, storage, and temperature control
-
Support sustainability efforts by minimizing waste and encouraging eco-friendly practices
Training & Compliance

Completion of required Lessonly training modules

Ongoing participation in workshops and brand education sessions to stay current on wellness trends and company initiatives

Demonstrated commitment to attendance, punctuality, team collaboration, and reliability
Other Duties

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
-
1–2 years of experience in produce, grocery, or fresh food retail preferred
-
Deep understanding of produce handling, ripeness, and seasonal trends

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and merchandising presentation

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and be on your feet throughout your shift

Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment
-
Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Knowledge of organic and local produce, food sustainability, or wellness is an asset
