Job Summary
Raiders Site Services LTD is currently seeking a Flag Person / Traffic Control Person to join our concrete construction team. This position will support road, curb, sidewalk, and concrete-related projects in across Norther and Western Alberta.
The successful candidate will be responsible for directing traffic safely through and around active work zones, protecting workers and the public, setting up and maintaining traffic control signage and devices, and communicating effectively with equipment operators, truck drivers, crew members, and the public. Applicants must be dependable, safety-focused, able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and comfortable standing for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction work areas
- Setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and other devices
- Communicating clearly with workers, operators, drivers, and the public
- Monitoring the work zone for changing hazards or unsafe conditions
- Following company safety procedures and site-specific traffic control plans
- Assisting the crew with general labour duties when required
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid flagging / traffic control certification is preferred
- Previous construction or traffic control experience is an asset
- Must be reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset
- Work is out of town, no work in Edmonton. Hotel with roommate and LOA provided.
