NOW HIRING MICROVELLUM PROGRAMMING TECHNICIAN - CUSTOM MILLWORK/ WOODWORKING

Under the supervision of the Programming Manager, you will be responsible for creating panel saw programs and CNC programs to support Production. You must be able to interpret Released For Fabrication shop drawings and provide all the supporting documents for production. These production documents include but are not limited to cut lists, production drawings, CNC programs, etc.
Main Responsibilities
- Read and interpret millwork blueprint drawings
- Understand AutoCAD drawings in order to build Microvellum models
- Create Solid works/SWOOD models based on shop drawings
- Develop CNC programs and cut lists and supplementary production drawings that support the production team
- Provide production data for machine operators
- Work with production to complete projects
- Communicate with the project management, engineering and CNC operators during assignments and resolution of machining, production, or quality issues
- Must meet scheduled deadlines
- Work in a fast-paced environment
Software Requirements
- Microvellum - 3 years+ required
- AutoCAD / SolidWorks (required 2-3 years)
- Excel (Proficient - Advanced)
- 5 Axis (considered as an asset)
Education
- University Degree or Trade School Diploma in a related subject
- Trade Certificate in Millwork an asset
Work Experience
- 1 - 2 year recent relevant experience using Microvellum for CNC programming within custom millwork/woodworking industry
Other Qualifications
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to communicate (in writing, verbal, and schematic)
- Familiar with cabinet fabrication techniques
- Able to work proficiently with mm (metric) and knowledgeable in Imperial
- Understand proper usage of hardware for cabinets (hinges, sliders, pulls, etc.)
- Understand proper usage of connectors (dowels, lock dados, etc.)
- Knowledge of AWMAC is an asset
