Position Purpose

Leads and oversees prospect research, research staff, donor pipeline management and staff pipeline training. Partners with development officers to help them achieve their fundraising objectives, using sound data management and pipeline information to guide them. Provides a full range of research support to the University’s development programs, identifying high-capacity philanthropic prospects, with a focus on major gift fundraising ($25K+ giving capacity) and principal gift fundraising ($1M+).

Essential Qualifications

University degree, preferably in library science or information management, or a combination of education and experience
Five years’ work experience in prospect research, preferably in the higher education sector
Five years’ fundraising experience, with a sound knowledge of fundraising practices
Three years’ experience in human resource management with ability to lead a team
Expert knowledge of fundraising database software (preferably Raiser’s Edge)
Persuasive communication skills, with strong presentation and negotiation skills
Superior spreadsheet and word processing skills for preparing complex reports
Ability to develop data management policy and procedures
Ability to think critically and develop system solutions for changing business requirements
Ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Ability to work with discretion and tact
Bilingualism — French and English (spoken and written)

Temporary assignment or contract of 12 months, with possibility of renewal. Eligibility to benefits and union affiliation will be determined upon hiring.
