Position Summary
The Production shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role oversees production staff, supports continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and food quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Production Team Leads and staff to achieve production targets and maintain a positive work culture.
- Ensure ERP system usage is accurate, timely, and aligned with operational requirements — including material consumption, batch documentation, and production output.
- Review and validate ERP data daily to maintain traceability, real-time inventory accuracy, and efficient production planning.
- Plan and organize daily workflow including staffing, equipment readiness, and raw material requirements.
- Monitor production operations to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Conduct shift meetings, communicate priorities, and support Team Leads in resolving operational challenges.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and skills development to Team Leads and team members; participate in onboarding and cross-training initiatives.
- Investigate production interruptions, equipment issues, or quality deviations and collaborate with other departments for corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and enforce GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and company policies.
- Track and report key metrics including downtime, yields, waste, and efficiency; lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Support performance evaluations and corrective actions where needed, working closely with HR.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of production processes, food safety requirements, workplace safety practices, and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with ERP or production management systems.
- Flexible and available to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries is considered a strong asset:
- Dairy Manufacturing
- Breweries and beverage production
- Bakery production
- Food assembly and processing
- Bottling and packaging operations
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment with a strong focus on food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement is an asset.
Pay: $26.00-$34.00 per hour
