Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and support continuous improvement initiatives within a custom manufacturing environment.
This is primarily a leadership and administrative role focused on developing people, improving production systems, building accountability, and driving operational excellence. Technical manufacturing teams oversee specialized production areas, while the Plant Manager ensures efficient communication, workflow, and overall plant performance.
Responsibilities
Lead daily production meetings and coordinate manufacturing priorities.
Conduct monthly performance and KPI review meetings with department leaders.
Collaborate with Scheduling to maintain production flow and meet delivery deadlines.
Identify production risks early and implement effective solutions.
Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop manufacturing employees.
Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
Hold department leaders accountable for KPIs and operational goals.
Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Work closely with Safety and Maintenance teams to improve plant programs.
Foster a positive, organized, and accountable workplace culture.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Scheduling, and Leadership teams to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in hiring, coaching, and employee development.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to build accountability while maintaining positive working relationships.
Experience leading continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Experience using KPIs, production schedules, and performance metrics.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Experience in cabinet or woodworking manufacturing is considered an asset but is not required.
