Job Summary:
Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Sandblaster/Painter. This is a seasonal position hiring multiple candidates. Sandblasters/Painters are expected to prep and paint a variety of mining equipment from heavy machinery to sea cans.
Requirements:
- Understand, implement and follow safety procedures for sandblasting equipment
- Prep surfaces for paint and other treatments
- Paint and seal Heavy equipment and sea cans
- Maintain sandblasting equipment
- Communicate with office to order parts and supplies
- Understand the properties of abrasive materials and their effects
- Maintain a clean work space and respect all tools and equipment provided
Qualifications
- 1 year painting experience
- 1 year sandblasting experience
- Attentiveness to detail
- Class 5 drivers license
- Education/certifications are an asset
This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.
Wages $25-$35 hour with overtime after 8hrs.
11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
