POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Retail Operations & Loss Prevention will be responsible for the development of retail operations and loss prevention procedures, as well as writing policies to ensure optimization. This position will also work closely with the Omni / Client Experience, Warehouse, Accounting, Merchant, Allocation, and Supply Chain teams to implement the smooth journey of the Customer from Ecomm to Brick and Mortar. This position is also responsible for staff development, from onboarding to their continuous development and growth in merchandising, P&L objectives, allocation, logistics strategies in order to achieve corporate objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

COMMUNICATIONS & REPORTING

Create and disseminate communication and reports, including but not limited to:
Create and distribute store memos,
Complete Inventory Adjustments as required
Reporting on Incentive results, etc.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Manage, lead, coach and grow the team:
Build a strong team and guide them to drive for quality standards and take accountability for excellence;
Train and coach leaders to optimize business performance: set goals, give specific feedback, provide clear directions, teach critical thinking, measure progress, etc.;
Empower the teams to present ideas for new initiatives;
Develop the ability of direct reports to drive change and growth;
Recruit the best managers according to our brand values, identify the existing people potentials, and create actions to develop them;
Lead the annual performance meetings for direct reports and define S.M.A.R.T objectives for each direct report;
Actively participate in the succession planning process, identifying and developing the next managers and successors;
Act as a leader to handle conflicts, make courageous decisions and solve issues;

STORE FUNCTIONALITY

Partner with Retail Operations Manager to develop and improve operational best practices for all locations;
Develop and report on the right benchmarks and KPIs to measure operational efficiency;
Build a prototype plan for each store;
Partner with Merchant to establish a merchandise plan mix pre-season and in-season;
Partner with Allocations Team to improve allocation processes to ensure we have the right product in the right place at the right time;
Build acceleration selling and buying plan for core styles;
Partner with Merchandising and Logistic team to secure delivery and analysis of products;
Partner with Retail Operations Manager to review inventory and item level accuracy and shortage issues;
Support Retail department with creating the right KPIs to optimize scheduling and workforce planning;
Support with developing loss prevention policies and programs to prevent internal and external theft;
Oversee Retail NSO leader with the planning an execution of new store openings and store closures as necessary;
Help build a streamlined approach to the expansion of the department and all new NSO's;
Identify and cost future technology from the market to help maximize sales and improve efficiency within stores;
Project Manager for all Operations.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Support with the sourcing process to hire top candidates to build a high performing operations team;
Build our team by welcoming and supporting onboarding of new employees;
Build and maintain relationships with store team, peers and relevant partners;
Support training and development of district partners and the Retail Operations Manager to increase their business acumen in the area of Retail Operations;
Support Retail department with implementing and improving financial reporting and management evaluation processes;
Inspire and motivate team through demonstrating leadership qualities;
Initiate and communicate team objectives and updates with relevant District partners;
Support Retail Operations Manager to develop and train store management teams with the proper tools to ensure inventory is accurate and loss is minimized;
Support program evaluation by collecting store feedback and metrics to create optimized solutions for better streamlines and processes.

SALES GENERATION

Partner with key functional departments to drive clear business objectives;
Provide financial accountability through education, analysis and follow up of key performance indicators with district/country level managers;
Work with Retail team to execute sales goal planning and budgeting;
Provide exceptional client experience by executing OAK+FORT Sales Culture when in stores;
Build and manage client relationships through client database recording;
Be a brand ambassador by keeping up with new arrivals, product knowledge, and wearing current merchandise;
Provide industry knowledge through awareness of products and prices in the market;
Maximize sales during special events;
Process cash desk operations with engagement, efficiency, and accuracy;
Respond and appropriately resolve customer complaints and service opportunities.
