Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment including dump trucks, 550 trucks, and farm machinery using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar, industrial equipment, HVAC systems, and automotive components to ensure reliability and safety.
- Oil changes on trucks and equipment
- Greasing all heavy and light trucks as well as equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to disassemble, repair, or replace faulty parts.
- Maintain detailed service records, update maintenance logs, and follow manufacturer guidelines for assembly and repair procedures.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulic components, and mechanical failures to identify root causes efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during testing or repair procedures to verify proper functioning post-maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service by clearly communicating repair needs and maintenance schedules to clients or team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial sector background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, and automotive systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams.
- Skilled in welding, assembly work, electrical troubleshooting, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused attitude.
