Job Overview
We are a privately owned veterinary clinic. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Small Animal Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine and be committed to providing high-quality care for animals. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. The Veterinarian will work closely with a team of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the well-being of our patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, dental COHAT and other surgeries will be ideal but not crucial.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and pet owners.
- Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general care practices to pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records via CoVet for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians in the care of animals, including animal restraint and handling during procedures.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in B.C.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
