The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the incumbent of this position is responsible for the architecture, engineering design and integration of customized Security / LAN / WAN solutions meeting needs of large business customers. As part of the Managed Services Center of Excellence, this position represents a great technical leadership opportunity and is a key factor for the success of the Managed Services (MS) portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Governance/Architecture
Maintain the business requirement roadmap
Integrate the different technology layers in an overall architecture
Understand IT market evolution and how it translates to the business
Technology lead in new projects
Participate in IT governance milestone
Technical Authority
Lead the technical virtual team assigned to a client/project
Overlook all IT projects and provide direction/recommendations
Lead the delivery of large and complex projects
Technology reference for the account
Validate delivery strategy of complex projects
Participate in resolution of architecture related problems
Overlook the evolution of scope during delivery and adapt the strategy
Design networking solutions based on business needs. Produce drawings and specifications for achievement of tasks related to the selected solutions.
Activities will be mostly on IT Security: Firewall; Intrusion Detection and Prevention; Content Filtering; Antivirus; Antispam; Data Loss Prevention; Security Information and Event Management; Security Awareness Training
Integration Support with activities on Security and LAN/WAN
Writes, participates or coordinates, the writing of service offers with a view to ensuring the quality of the documents produced and an acceptable timeframe that satisfies the technical and legal requirements between the customer and Bell
Produce plans for new solution introduction and tests when required.
Recommend upgrades, improvements or technological changes in order to maintain network infrastructure operable and effective.
Produce and draft technical reports on request for the client or management.
Critical Competencies:
Minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of telecommunications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering with major in Telecommunications or Computer Sciences or equivalent experience
Knowledge mostly on IT Security and LAN / WAN networks, IP VPN (MPLS) service, wireless technology (WLAN)
Excellent knowledge of IP network
Certifications from major manufacturers
Customer service experience and interpersonal skills
Bilingualism is required (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
