1. General Duties
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment such as but not limited to Packaging Wrap Machine, Box Machine, Tugger, Scanner, Vacuum Cooler, Winch, Forklift, Head filler, bunker filler, Skid Steer, Cassette machine, hand jack, power jack.
- Filling, Casing and Emptying harvest rooms, cutting strings at blending line, assisting in filling of case baskets.
- May occasionally work from heights with proper training
- Inspecting compost for oxygen levels, moisture and disease.
- Responsible for watering growing rooms within the guidelines supplied by the grower and checking for disease in growing rooms.
- Helps ensure the compost is getting the right amount of water and mix, assuring the addition of mushroom spawn and supplements.
- Ensures Compost Adding to Casing (CAC).
- Clean compost from difficult access area with a pitchfork.
- Helps ensure the mushroom compost is filled into the growing beds and ensures the growing beds are emptied post-harvest.
- Ensures that the highest level of disease preventative measures are implemented and maintained.
- Keeps accurate and accessible records when required.
- Reworks boxes as required and assembles box lids.
- Maintains and monitors corrugated cardboard inventory.
- Loads, unloads the vacuum cooler, ensuring product is cooled to specifications
- Supplies the packing lines with masters and empty pallets.
- Loads labels and makes adjustments to the line according to packaging orders
- Executes customer orders as directed ensuring the use of correct label, date code and any other customer requirements.
- Washes harvest, packing, filling and growing rooms, tunnels and all farm equipment associated with these operations, including but not limited to the packing room equipment, stump dumpers, trays and lugs, bunker filler, and other filling and tunnel equipment, applying disinfectant where needed.
- Maintains strict hygiene at all times.
- Maintains common areas cleaned and washed, such as inside and behind the bunkers, the fill hall, upstairs fill hall, pump house, electric house, storage and change room.
- Capable of identifying obvious malfunctions of the equipment being used.
- Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions and climates.
- Transfers trash bins to and from growing rooms using a forklift
- Dumps trash bins into wagon
- Operates tractor to dump wagons when full
- Delivers harvest supplies to the growing rooms
- Assists with product scanning when requested
- Inspects trolleys and platforms for safety compliance
- Sets up harvesting rooms for following day
- As reasonably requested in aid of operations or culture compliance, performs other duties as assigned.

- Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
- Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor
- Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the supervisor immediately
- Cooperates in the Early and Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation
- Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) as trained
- Adheres to all quality standards per customer specifications
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada with no restrictions.
- Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, construction or relevant field is required.
- Previous experience operating farm or construction machinery considered an asset.

Hours of work:
- 5 to 6 days / week.
- Approximately 30 to 60 hours per week / 8 to 14 hours per day.
- Public holidays/weekends as scheduled.
- Daily shift start and end times for associates vary based on production.
Earnings:
- $18.67 - $21.68
- Farm Hand Fill/Empty Crew receives a $0.60 per hour premium for working on the afternoon shift.
- Packing room positions receive a shift premium of $1.00 per hour worked after 5:00pm.
- Hallway Runners and Fill/Empty Crew receive a production bonus.
