Responsibilities & Primary Duties:

  • Provide personal care
  • Assist with personal hygiene
  • Able to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting and rolling in bed
  • Perform manual (1 person assist) and /or operate mechanical lifts. (Hoyer, Nolan, Arjo, Medi-stand, etc.)
  • Provides cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the client. Provide companionship and conversation
  • Assist with special outings to celebrate Happier Aging
  • Meal preparation, healthy, tasty, nutritious meals

Elderly care Secondary Duties:

  • Housekeeping duties which COULD include the following duties: cleaning bathrooms (including toilets and tubs/shower stalls), vacuuming, washing floors, windows, dusting, kitchen surfaces and cupboards, fridge and stove cleaning, watering plants, pet care (water and feed), washing dishes before and after meal prep.
  • Provide travel assistance (drive in your vehicle or client’s vehicle or accompany by other means of transportation (eg: taxi, bus)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Passionate about community health / home support
  • Absolutely love working with seniors
  • Able to work independently
  • A solid knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of community healthcare and the delivery of personal care service to clients
  • Demonstrated ability to follow English written and verbal instructions as related to client care
  • Able to travel locally from assignment to assignment

Qualifications and Skills

  • Personal Support Worker Certificate or approved equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle that you can drive
  • Be available to work every other weekend

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Salary: $15.50 to $17.00 /hour

Experience:

  • caregiver: 1 year (Preferred)

Location:

  • Niagara Regional Municipality (Required)

Licence:

  • Drivers License G (Required)
  • PSW Certificate or equivalent (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Preferred)
