KidsCanSwim Canada is a locally owned and operated learn-to-swim school dedicated to teaching babies and kids, ages 3 months to 13 years, how to swim in our purpose-built facilities. With our expansion to new locations, we’re looking for an Aquatic Program Coordinator to play a vital role in the growth and success of our swim programs.
As a key leader within the centre, the Aquatic Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the quality and consistency of our swim programs and supporting our team members to provide a safe, positive, and engaging experience for guests. This position focuses on ensuring that KidsCanSwim Canada’s curriculum and safety standards are met, while fostering an environment that encourages team growth and an exceptional guest satisfaction.

Roles & Responsibilities
Staff Management & Training
- Oversee daily poolside operations at KidsCanSwim Orleans, including administering pool chemicals, documenting water chemistry, following opening and closing procedures, and performing routine cleaning and equipment checks.
- Provide support and guidance to aquatic educators and on-deck coordinators, ensuring that all pool rules, procedures, and practices meet required standards.
- Oversee the hire process of Aquatic Educators. Conduct training for new hires, including KidsCanSwim Canada Introductory, Assessor, Shift Lead, and Parent-Child Teaching courses, as well as in-service training.
- Manage pool chemical inventory, ensuring timely reordering and stocking.
- Managing staff qualifications and renewals as well as other HR requirements.
- Oversee pool scheduling, assign team members to shifts, and handle replacements due to sickness, vacation, or other absences.
- Monitor program quality to ensure alignment with KidsCanSwim Canada standards.
Customer Service and Outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to ensure a high level of satisfaction with KidsCanSwim Canada’s proprietary programs and services.
- Communicate with parents during lessons, providing updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
- Proactively update parents on their child’s progress, upcoming centre news, and theme month information.
Safety and Security
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and testing of pool and emergency equipment to ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.
- Develop in-services and emergency response training for staff, leveraging defined KidsCanSwim Canada policies and procedures.
- Perform regular safety assessments of the facility and emergency procedures, ensuring they are kept up-to-date.
General Duties
- Maintain strong communication with the management team, ensuring seamless coordination.
- Support the management team and CEO with additional responsibilities as needed.
- Instruct KidsCanSwim Canda curriculum as required, maintaining teaching quality and safety standards.
Qualification and Experience
- 3 – 5 years experience in an aquatic setting. Leadership experience is preferred.
- Passion for child development and water safety, with the ability to inspire confidence in others.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle varied and competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both team members and parents.
- Require valid certification of: Water Safety Instructor; Standard First Aid with CPR-C; National Lifeguard.
- French language would be considered an asset.
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
