Tower company in the Edmonton area requires labourers who will aspire to become riggers, lead hand riggers and eventually foremen. Rigging experience is not necessary; however common sense and a desire to learn is. A healthy respect for heights is a requirement. In addition, candidates must be able to speak and understand English for safety reasons. At this time our company is unable to facilitate or sponsor immigration into Canada.
Successful candidates must be located near the Edmonton area, have reliable transportation to Nisku, or are planning relocation on their own to the area. The company does not pay for relocation.
Successful candidates MUST:
- be comfortable working at heights, upwards of 350 feet
- a valid Class 5 driver’s license and have reliable vehicle transportation to Nisku
- be able to provide a 3 year driver’s abstract upon hire
- be able to pass scheduled drug and alcohol testing
- have the ability to travel for work within Alberta
- be willing to travel out of province for extended periods (anywhere from 10 days to 30 days) to other provinces across Canada (including remote areas in Northwest Territories and Nunavut)
- be willing to work in all types of weather, including cold, snow, wind, rain and heat
- be physically fit, able to lift heavy objects
- ability to work with power hand tools
- work in a safe manner and never jeopardize the safety of their fellow crew members
- sign an employee contract
Pay upon hire is based on certifications held by candidate. Our company will provide paid training if necessary, including (but not limited to): CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, First Aid & Level C CPR, and Fall Protection.
After 3 months, successful candidates will be signed on to the health benefits plan which the company pays for, and provided with a clothing allowance. As well as a possible pay increase based on performance.
Additional benefits include paid accommodations while working out of town, daily per diems for out of town work, and overtime on travel time.
New employees are required to have arc rated, CSA rated composite or steel toe work boots (must be above 6”), gloves made of natural fibres, and side impact hard hat. We will provide all other fall protection safety gear.
