RIGHT CHOICE Camps & Catering is looking for a Camp Maintenance Plumber to work in our Sherwood Park Yard for the summer, and one of our locations in Northwest Alberta in the fall. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical portion of modular industrial accommodations. The Plumber will install, alter, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution or waste disposal for modular structures. All applicable building codes must be followed focusing on safety and quality of work.
Key Responsibilities
· Repair commercial kitchen equipment
· Install, maintain, and repair all plumbing infrastructure at site that include mechanical, heating, and plumbing systems
· Install valves and fittings
· Cut openings in floors and walls to accommodate pipes
· Conduct and follow established preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
· Physically perform site and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
· Read and interpret drawings, corresponding building codes and specifications for existing installations to ensure technical information is current and in compliance with current legislative standards
· Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend solutions to improve maintenance operations
· Some non-plumbing tasks such as snow removal, carpentry, electrical as required in a remote camp setting
Qualifications
· Certified Journeyman Plumber. Red Seal preferred with a Gasfitter-Class B
· Minimum 3 years of experience in remote camp installation and maintenance.
· Valid class 5 driver’s license
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with HVAC and commercial kitchen equipment
· Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.
· Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
· Attention to detail, accuracy and strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Interact professionally with customers and co-workers
· Must be able to travel within Alberta and work a 21 days on 7 day off rotation which includes nights, weekends and holidays
