Overview
Acts as part of an interdisciplinary team, facilitating patient flow through the Oncology Clinic/Hemodialysis/Kidney Care Clinic (MCKC, Home Dialysis). This involves booking appointments, registration, file management, orientation of the patient/family to the unit, data collection and procurement of supplies.
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Recent experience, within 2 years, of working in an oncology/renal clinic.
- Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario/Ontario Renal Network reporting required.
- Public Relations/customer service training preferred.
- Successful completion of Cerner training.

- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with co-workers, other disciplines, other departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instruction/direction and changes.
- Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory.
- Expert in Cerner PM Registration, Cerner Powerchart, Teletracking, ANSOS, ORRS, MS Office applications, for example, Word and Excel.
- Expert with Plexxus SAP-SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, terminology and equipment related to oncology/hemodialysis/ Kidney Care.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide family centered care.
- Good work and attendance record required.
