SUMMARY

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating various processing and packaging machines to ensure the efficient and safe production of Handi Food Products. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high standards of food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency within the production environment.

Note :

The candidate must be available to work FULL-TIME (DAY SHIFT)
Sun - Wed (06:00AM to 06:00PM), possible Thu and/or Fri

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines in preparation for operation.
Operate packaging machines to box and package finished goods.
Report any malfunction or damages on the production line.
Check products regularly to ensure conformance to company standards.
Identify and clear machine blockages as required to ensure smooth production.
Report any food safety hazards to Production Supervisor and/or QA for corrective action
Perform corrective machine adjustments as necessary.
Clean machines and work areas after production runs to maintain cleanliness and safety.
Record essential production data such as quantity, weight, size, date, and type of products packaged.
Accurately complete production logs and other documentation as required.
Report any potential food safety concerns or observations to the supervisor or Quality Assurance (QA) team.
Monitor and implement food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and health and safety procedures.
Participate in training sessions provided by the company, ensuring knowledge of best practices and safety protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year experience in Bakery Environment
Minimum 1 Year previous Mixer/Operator Experience an asset
Basic Computer Skills
Demonstrated team player with ability to learn quickly.
Takes initiative, exercises good judgment in day-to-day business decisions.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Possess adaptability and change friendly attitude.
Proven ability to get results with a ‘can do’ attitude in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 52 lbs (25 kg) regularly and perform repetitive lifting, bending, and reaching motions.
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours per shift).
Must be able to work in areas with temperature fluctuations (coolers, loading docks, etc.) and tolerate standing or walking on concrete floors.
Ability to work with machinery and equipment requiring manual dexterity and precision.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is on-site, with coverage required at one location: North York.
Frequent exposure to noise from machinery, forklifts, and truck loading/unloading operations.
Require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes , gloves, and hearing protection.
Moderate to high pace environment with frequent interruptions, coordination with multiple departments, and strict adherence to shipping deadlines.
