Student Senior Editor
EDITORIAL STRUCTURE
Scale Here’s editorial structure includes a leadership layer (this role), an editorial layer, a contributor layer and a support layer. In addition, there is an oversight layer of two Co-Editors-in-Chief — experienced operators with deep backgrounds in scaling companies that help guide, not manage — and a governance board of seasoned executives.
The Senior Student Editor is the operational editorial leader. You run the day-to-day: managing contributors, maintaining standards, driving the editorial calendar, and ensuring every piece we publish meets the bar.
This structure gives you genuine editorial authority and real accountability, while connecting you directly to practitioners who have done what our readers are trying to do.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a substantive student leadership role. It is suited to a university student with genuine intellectual curiosity about Canadian entrepreneurship, a commitment to rigorous journalism, and the confidence to lead and develop a team of peer contributors.
You will set and uphold editorial standards, shape coverage across three content pillars, develop student writers into serious journalists, and contribute original reported work that informs Canada's most ambitious builders and the institutions that support them.
Our three content pillars are:
Entrepreneurial Success in Canada. The real stories of how Canadian startups and scaleups win — honest case studies of scale, failure, pivots, and exits that go beyond celebration to examine how success was actually built.
Policy, Regulation & Structural Forces. Analysis of the federal, provincial, and municipal policies, tax structures, capital access conditions, and regulatory environments that shape what founders can build and where.
Actionable Proposals for Ecosystem Actors. Evidence-based proposals directed at governments, large enterprises, investors, professional services firms, and other ecosystem actors — focused on practical changes that accelerate Canadian entrepreneurship.
