TDE is searching for an Electrical Apprentice to be responsible for safely assisting the Journeymen Electricians with their duties which may include installing, altering, repairing and maintain electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

Observe and learn while assisting the Journeymen Electricians with their duties.
Must be able to follow instructions exactly as given.
Read and Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications, and applicable code to determine wiring layouts.
Tests electrical parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Do preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems.
Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial equipment.
Install electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the CEC and /or NEC.
Works on electrical failures and replaces components.
Help maintain a clean work area at all times.
Report any issues and/or concerns to the Electrical Lead Hand and/or the Journeymen.

Qualifications:

Some experience in electrical or similar field of work.
Experience in a construction or shop fabrication environment.
Must be enrolled in a Certified Electrician Apprenticeship program.
Working knowledge and background in a fabrication, manufacturing, and construction is essential.
Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
Self-motivated and able to work in a high pressure and deadline driven environment.
Ability to prioritize activities, adapt, and stay focused in a dynamic changing environment.
Good computer skills are an asset.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of staff.
