Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in meat preparation and butchery. This role involves precise meat cutting, food handling, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. The Meat Cutter will play a vital role in providing high-quality products and excellent customer service within our retail or wholesale environment. Candidates with kitchen experience and a strong understanding of food safety protocols are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform precise meat cutting and trimming according to specifications
Prepare various cuts of meat for sale or cooking, ensuring quality standards are met
Handle food products safely, adhering to all food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Package meat products efficiently for retail display or customer orders
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment
Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
Follow all safety guidelines during food handling and processing to prevent contamination or injury

Experience

Previous experience in the food industry, especially in meat cutting or butchery, is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures is essential
Experience with packaging meat products for retail or wholesale distribution is a plus
Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are important qualities for success in this role

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Concord, ON L4K 5W7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

Butchery: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
